NICOLE KIDMAN'S UPDO FOR 2013 CANNES OPENING CEREMONY

The actress rose to her role with a series of elegant gowns, makeup looks and hairstyles. The most breathtaking, however, was perhaps the high-volume ponytail that she wore for the opening ceremony and the premiere of "The Great Gatsby" held on the first night. It showed off her blond hair perfectly!
It's an eye-catching style and surprisingly easy. Don't believe ?

 Here's the proof ....
Step One -Blow-dry your hair, focusing on the roots to get some real volume. Then, comb out the ends of your hair thoroughly.
Step Two -Separate a section in the centre (as if you were doing a Mohawk.) Using a clip, pin up this hair so it is out of the way.
Step Three -Apply wet-look gel liberally to the side bits of your hair. Then, using a comb, comb the hair back to the back centre of your head. Fix it in place with bobby pins. You don't have to put your hair up in the centre. Instead let the ends hang down the back and centre of your head. You'll gather them into a ponytail at the nape of your neck in a minute.
Step Four -When your hair is clipped up on both sides, let down the hair from the top part.
Step Five - It's time to separate again. This time, take a small section from the front of your hair, just behind your forehead and set it aside.
Step Six -Using a clean comb and lots of hairspray backcomb (tease) your hair to give it real volume. Tease the roots all the way back on your head (as if you wanted a Mohawk.
Step Seven - Once you have the volume that you want, pick up the piece of hair from the front and smooth it over the teased bit using a soft brush.
Note: Don't brush too hard or you'll lose your volume, use light, delicate strokes instead.
Step Eight -Smooth the hair over the bobby pins, creating an effect as if the sprayed and smoothed sides disappeared under the more voluminous centre. Tie all the hair back in a ponytail at the base of your neck.
And there you have it!
Your very own space-age hairstyle for an upcoming red carpet or party.
Love Aaisha.....
