A To Z ABOUT ACNE ....

All of a sudden, you have a zit to zap. A pimple to pop. How, you wonder, did it get there? What went so wrong that your once flawless skin is covered with a red spot or two or three?
No idea here are some facts and natural way to cure them :
"Acne is a complex medical condition caused by four factors: hormones, inflammation, bacteria, and dead skin cells that clog pores,"
Triggers include "stress, poor sleep, and dietary choices. For some people, chocolate really does cause breakouts; for others, it's greasy foods, or a diet heavy in dairy."

And that's just the beginning of the list. Be alert to these often-sneaky causes of acne:

Makeup.
Acne or pimples caused by topical creams, lotions, and makeup, is most common on the face, neck, hairline, and scalp. Products that contain mineral oil clog pores, so switch to brands labelled non-comedogenic, which are oil-free, don't strip skin of necessary moisture and nutrients, and don't block pores. And since makeup brushes collect bacteria and yeast, clean them once a week with soap and water. Washing that foundation and powder off every night is important.

Cell phones.
Your iPhone or Android is a cesspool of dirt and bacteria, and there's a good chance it'll trigger breakouts on your chin and around your mouth. Wipe it down daily with alcohol or Clorox wipes to keep it clean.

Touching your face
Beware of contact acne: "It can appear anywhere you apply repeated or extended pressure on your skin,"Resting your chin on your hand while you work, pressing your cell phone on your chin, or wearing tight clothing can all contribute to acne."

Dandruff.
Dead skin blizzard? Not fun, for plenty of reasons. And it doesn't help that dandruff often causes acne, typically in the form of tiny pimples lining the scalp. Using shampoo designed to treat dandruff is helpful "A lot of people don't like to because of its medicinal nature and smell,"  "But there are new lines that smell nice and can be used every day."

Sunscreen.
Yes, you need it when you are out in the sun. But make sure it's oil-free and non-comedogenic. Avoid sunscreen with perfume or dyes, many of these contain alcohol, which may irritate sensitive skin

Travelling.
Changes in environment—humidity, weather, and even minerals or fluoride in water—can trigger breakouts. There's nothing you can do about the heat index, of course. But wash your face with bottled water when you can, and avoid using hotel soaps.

Stress.
It triggers heightened levels of androgen's, hormones that contribute to adulthood breakouts. Stress also releases cortisol and other adrenal steroids that can stimulate the sebaceous glands and lead to acne flare-ups. Though it doesn't always cause new cases of acne, stress tends to worsen matters in those already struggling with the condition. Make sure to get enough sleep, and allot 15 minutes each day to relaxing or doing something you enjoy. Squeeze in some exercise, too, since research suggests it helps deflate stress.

Home remedies to treat acne:

1. Take a few drops of gulab jal (rose-water) and mix it with sandalwood. Apply the paste on your face and wash it off after 20 minutes.
2. Make a face-wash by adding fresh lime juice to a cup of unboiled milk and using it on your face.
3.Take some tomato pulp and apply it on your face. Leave it for 45 minutes and wash it off.
4. Take turmeric powder and neem leaves. Apply the mixture on your pimples. Leave it on your face for about half an hour.
5. Take equal quantities of rose water and lime juice and apply the mixture on the affected area. Leave it on for 20 minutes.
6.Leave fresh mint juice on your face overnight to tame pimples.
7.Make a mixture of cinnamon powder and honey and apply on your pimples before you go to bed in the night. Wash it with warm water when you wake up in the morning. Do this for a fortnight and watch your pimples disappear.
8. Not only are oranges good for overall health, you can use orange peels as a remedy for pimples too. Grind the peels, mix them with a few drops of water and apply it on your face.
9.Take methi (fenugreek) leaves and make a paste. Apply it every night for 15 minutes and wash it off.

DAILY CARE:
1.Wash your face about twice each day. Do not wash it more often. Use a mild soap made especially for people with acne, and warm water. Do not scrub the skin. Experts advise the use of an OTC lotion which contains benzoyl peroxide.

2.Don't try to burst the pimples. You may push the infection further down, causing more blocking and worse swelling and redness. Popping pimples makes scarring more likely.

3.If you have to get rid of a pimple for some event, such as a wedding, or public speaking occasions, ask a specialist to treat it for you.

4.Try to avoid touching your face with your hands. When you are on the phone try not to let the receiver touch your face - there may be sebum and skin residue on it.

5.Glasses should be cleaned regularly. They will collect sebum and skin residue.

6.You skin needs to breathe. If your acne is on your back, shoulders or chest try wearing loose clothing. Tight garments, such as headbands, caps and scarves should be avoided - if you have to wear them make sure they are cleaned regularly.

7.Don't go to sleep with makeup on. Only use makeup that is non ceomedogenic or non acnegenic - you should be able to read this on the label. If you cannot find it, ask the shopkeeper or pharmacist. You should use makeup which does not have oil and does not clog up the pores.

8.Hair collects sebum and skin residue. Keep your hair clean and away from your face.

i hope these tips and tricks will help you all.
